Recipe: Nutella Star

Nutella Star

TGIF because this one is NOT a healthy one!! Nevertheless it is delicious!

I have seen so many people post on social media that they have baked the Nutella Star, so I could’t resist trying it for myself, and believe you me, the whole thing was eaten before it was cold, that’s how good it was.

The recipe you have here:
- 3 dl Milk
- 50 gr. Yeast
- 1 Egg
- 75 gr. Butter
- 600 gr. Flower
- 1 table spoon Sugar
- 1 tea spoon Salt
- 200 gr. Nutella
- Egg for brushing

Warm the milk and stir the yeast into it. Add the egg and the soft butter and stir it together with the milk and yeast. Mix the flower, sugar and salt together, and add it little by little to the mixture. Knead the dough to a smooth and even consistency. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes in a warm place under a tea towel. When it has raised to double it’s size you divide it into 4 even sized pieces and roll it flat and round measuring 25 cm in diameter. Put the first layer on a lined baking sheet and smear Nutella over it to about 1 cm from the edge. Now place another layer on top and repeat the process until you finish with a layer of dough on top. Squeeze the edges well together so that the Nutella doesn’t run out during the next part. Put a glass or something to mark a 5 cm circle in the middle, then take a sharp knife and cut from the marked circle to the edge - 16 pieces. Take two pieces side by side and twist them away from each other and squeeze the ends together. Continue the process until you have a star. Let you Nutella star rest for 20 minutes and preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Brush it with a beaten egg. Then bake it in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes (Mine was baking for 17 minutes). See the pictures below for a better understanding of the process.
